Innkeepers against free comments

Written on November 16, 2008

The caterers anger is justified when the negative criticism in blogs and forums hurt them and have no legal or technical tools to combat such attacks. You know, today anyone can lie, slander, insult, tricks, pictures, etc.. and that lasts until the end of days. Even Google is able to place high these lies.

Last week I was in the Goodies & Twitts (Turismo 2.0). Interesting, somewhat conservative, but the speakers ... need to lay down on a little longer for discussion of the timid.

I stayed with these three ideas among many:

  • The reliability of some systems that collect user on the network is questionable
  • The forum or blog should be legally responsible for your comments
  • The comments in forums and blogs must be documented or deleted

Any proposed

power to prosecute a forum or a blog to allow comments without documenting

Man

  • It is difficult to stop someone 4 lines of opinion on a hotel, free, imagine provide documents, photos, videos ... (11,870 tries)
  • And if a hotel has 3 positive reviews will it be because it has no negative? Or is it because nobody wants it to trial?
  • If you do not like the hotel do you have to document? I do not like, period, is my opinion
  • What if the forum is hosted in Kazakhstan, there if you can because it does not defame the law?

I think that you can not put gates to the mountain and that people do not believe everything you put online. Thus, in my opinion, we provide the public tools to judge for themselves.

Last week I discovered that Google Flu was able to predict an influenza epidemic in a region because the search index of symptoms (headache, fever, vomiting) was greater. Well, it will also be able to tell if a hotel is good for the ratio of positive comments about negative compared with the average of the same type of hotel.

As a particular user, and that value would be better for me to decide and want to read or write stories, to read them.

Apparently, many things are different from either side of the barrier. Your post illustrates perfectly the perception of the client and the vast majority of Internet users. I hope that soon decide to side with the user.
